London 20 November 2006.   Mothers from the Global Women’s Strike and Single Mothers Self Defence participated with placards in the End Child Poverty demonstration organised by Save the Children outside the Department of Work and Pensions and the Treasury.   Save the Children is calling for “more resources and commitment to end child poverty – i.e. 0.3% GDP to be committed.  3 .4 million children live in poverty in the UK.  This means living on less than £186 a week for a single parent with two children. ”
