Grassroots, multi-racial, lesbian & bisexual women’s group campaigning
for our economic, legal and human rights; for
payment for caring work, taking the money away from military budgets
(over one trillion a year) for the essentials of life, and so that women
everywhere can afford to make the sexual and other choices we want. We
make visible lesbian/bi women’s caring and survival work for our
families and communities, which is often hidden because we can’t be out.
We are from
different backgrounds and ages: single mums, sex workers, with
disabilities, housewives, immigrants, students . . . from villages and
cities, in Europe and countries of the South.
- Dykes on Strike:
we take part in annual Global Women’s
Strike events on 8 March and actions throughout the year.
We call for “No war! Invest in Caring not Killing!”
we campaign with lesbian & bi women seeking asylum from homophobia.
- Anti-war and occupation:
we work with Payday men’s network defending the right of gay
conscientious objectors like Mehmet Tarhan & Stephen Funk who
refuse to be killers, and for lesbian & gays to come out of the
military “No pride in the slaughter of others”.
we press for Les/Bi/Gay/Trans Pride to be a movement event, not just
a commercial party.
- Police homophobia:
we defend our communities against police sexism, racism and
homophobia, and oppose any police take over of our movements.
we support lesbian/bi women fighting to keep custody of our
- Job discrimination:
we campaign against homophobia at waged work.
we have sister groups in Spain (Barcelona) & US (Philadelphia & San
Francisco,) and work with other groups eg. Movimiento Gay
