An International Women’s Day and Mothers Day Event

Mothers March & Speakout
Saturday 13 March 2010

Assemble 2pm Trafalgar Square
March to Parliament Square
Westminster, London SW1
ALL WELCOME

We are mothers of different races, ages, passports, incomes, sexual preferences and occupations.  Some of us are asylum seekers.  Some live with our children, some are separated from our children, some have lost our children.  Some are not biological mothers but we are carers for children and others.  Some are fighting for justice.  Some are fighting to survive war and ecological disaster.  Some work in the fields, others in the city.

Every mother is a working mother.

Mothers make the world go round, but we get neither recognition nor resources, only blame when things go wrong.  The work that mothers contribute to society entitles us to every support, including financial.

THE SURVIVAL OF THE HUMAN RACE DEPENDS ON MOTHERS.

A contingent of fathers and other male carers who support mothers will join the march.

Called by Global Women’s Strike, Mothers’ Campaign of the All African Women’s Group and Single Mothers’ Self-Defence

Endorsed by: Black Women’s Rape Action Project, Payday men’s network, Wages Due Lesbians, WinVisible (women with visible and invisible disabilities), Women Against Rape
